Shelter-in-place lifted after standoff in Meriden neighborhood
Residents in one Meriden neighborhood were asked to shelter-in-place while police conducted an investigation Saturday night.
It took place at a specific property on Melville Avenue.
Meriden Mayor Kevin Scarpati said there was a shelter-in-place order for residents in the Melville Avenue area, but there was no immediate threat to the public.
Police, along with SWAT, continue to investigate.

Mayor Scarpati noted that this was believed to be an isolated incident and not related to the deadly stabbing that occurred Saturday evening on Hanover Street.
