2 charged in Montgomery shooting that killed teen, wounded 6
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Montgomery police have arrested two people in connection with a deadly shooting from the weekend.
Luis Barrera, 20, and Baltazar Barrera, 20, both of Montgomery, are charged with capital murder. They were booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility without bail. Police say additional charges are pending. Police did not say if the suspects are related.
Maj. Saba Coleman said the shooting left a 15-year-old boy dead and six others wounded early Sunday. The victim who died has not been publicly identified.
Police found the scene in the 300 block of Gardendale Drive shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday. At the scene, officers found the teen who died and three other victims with non-life threatening wounds and one additional victim with a life-threatening wound. All were taken to a local hospital.
Coleman said officers also made contact at a hospital with a man and juvenile from the scene who both sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. These victims went to the hospital via personal vehicles.
No other information was immediately released.
