Boy dies after falling out fourth floor apartment in New York City as neighbors rushed to the scene
A four-year-old boy has died after falling out of a fourth-floor apartment window in Brooklyn.
The tragic incident occurred just before 3pm Monday in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn at 3301 Farragut Road.
The child was immediately rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County but the youngster's injuries were so severe that he passed away.
How the boy came to fall out the window is not exactly known, but a preliminary investigation found the child may have slipped past a security gate on a window.
Police sources have stated the fall appears to be an accident with no suspicion of criminal activity.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene following the fall, with several people attempting to revive the child while maintenance workers also tried to understand how the child fell.
The police quickly picked up the lifeless boy and rushed him to an ambulance.
'You see like 10 different people trying to revive him,' said Nashawna Harley to the New York Post. 'Cops picked him up and ran him over to the ambulance.
'Where are the parents? Who was watching him? How is this possible? Did the building have bars?' she asked.

New York City Council member Farah Louis said she was trying to help the community make sense of the tragic loss.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death
'Somebody has to pay for this because this doesn't make sense.'
'It was horrible,' said Barbara, a witness, to PIX11. 'They were hysterical, all upset, howling, saying the kid's name.'
'When I saw the baby lifeless and the police running with her I was like this is serious,' another witness added.
New York City Council member Farah Louis said she was trying to help the community make sense of the tragic loss.
'We're definitely reaching out to the family, reaching out to the hospital,' Louis said. 'We're also going to speak to the landlord and to the super to have a conversation about all safety measures put in place so that this doesn't happen again.'
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
