Last month DailyMail.com exclusively revealed Spears' mom Lynne is 'begging' the pop princess to repair her fractured relationship with her younger sister Jamie Lynn - after the siblings became embroiled in a bitter and very public feud in amid the Toxic singer's 13-year conservatorship.

The conservatorship, which saw Britney's father Jamie handed control over her life, finances, and medical decisions, led to a serious rift within the Spears family and saw the popstar distancing herself from almost all of her close family members.

'Lynne is begging Britney to make amends with her sister Jamie Lynn now,' the insider shared. 'They are both leaning towards a yes. Lynne knows that Britney does miss her sister and she told her that the feeling is obviously mutual.'

But, the source added, it's going to take some convincing to bring Britney around to the idea of a truce with her estranged sister - and an apology from Jamie Lynn.

'Britney still feels that Jamie Lynn is the one who messed up and, if they are going to meet, she would need to come to her and not vise versa,' the source reveals, adding: 'Lynne is figuring out now how to make this happen, but she is not going to rest until everything is perfect again.'

Britney also blamed her younger sister for not doing more to free her from the horrific conservatorship and this put a wedge in between them immediately after it was terminated.

But their sisterly bond showed signs of strain for several years leading up to that.

In April 2017, Jamie Lynn performed remixes of Britney's songs during the Radio Disney Music Awards. Britney attended the show with Lynne and looked very uncomfortable. She called her out of the misstep in in July 2021.

Heart and soul: After the release date went public this Tuesday, Spears appeared in an Instagram video and told fans: 'I worked my a** off for this book'

In April 2018, Jamie Lynn got backlash when she dissed the Free Britney Movement by saying, '10 years ago, who was there? I have been here long before anyone else and I’ll be here long after.'

As the conservatorship hearings began, Jamie Lynn faced accusations that she was on Britney's payroll, which she denied. She also denied countless allegations about her involvement.

In October 2021, their sisterly bond was severed when Jamie Lynn released her autobiography, Things I Should Have Said. In the book, she wrote that there were times when Britney's behavior was 'erratic, paranoid, and spiraling.'

When talking to Good Morning America in January 2022, Jamie Lynn vehemently defended herself against accusations that she failed to assist her sibling in ending the guardianship.

The drama between they remained seemingly dormant until January 2023 when Jamie Lynn's emotional confession about growing up in her sister's shadow aired on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test.

Jamie Lynn broke down in tears and confessed, 'Growing up, my sister became famous, worldwide famous, when I was very young. I’m so proud of her, love her to death, but I don’t know. Sometimes I feel like I don’t really have anything for myself. I struggle with self-esteem all the time.'

Britney went off on Instagram in a rant that read: 'Are we gonna say it was hard being my sister ???? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.... really ??? Well this was my spa plan at Vegas as my childhood friends had their heads held high with a seat for toes and nails and a bottle of champagne for each one of them while I STOOD AT THE DOOR not allowed to go in....'

Jamie Lynn (pictured with her sister in 2003) claimed that she took several steps to try and help Britney end her conservatorship, including speaking with the popstar's legal team

The singer's caption continued: 'But bet ur bottom dollar they be gotten their entertainment from me that night !!!!! I've learned from the BEST... do we dare set aside our SELF CARE AND ACKNOWLEDGE a childhood friend ???? WHY no !!!!'

She said that her mind was 'blown' by Jamie Lynn's on-air accusations. The two have not been in communication since.

This comes after it emerged that a flood of pre-orders had already swept Britney's tell-all to the top spot on Amazon's New Releases In Books list.

Spears announced in April 2022 that she was writing a memoir, and she promised it would delve into the circumstances of her years-long conservatorship while taking an unvarnished look at her family members.

After the release date went public this Tuesday, Spears appeared in an Instagram video and told fans: 'I worked my a** off for this book. I had a lot of therapy to get this book done so you guys better like it, and if you don’t like it, that’s fine too.'

'Either way, I'm going to Bermuda,' she said, before launching into a somewhat modified version of Kokomo by the Beach Boys.

She began dancing around and even acquired a large pair of shades from offscreen to put on, until her husband Sam Asghari eventually advised her: 'Too much.'

Along with the announcement came a view of the front cover, which features a stark black-and-white photo of Spears from years earlier.

She poses topless in profile while covering her chest with her arms and gazing into the camera plaintively, and she wears a pair of shiny metallic jeans.

One fan who is already on tenterhooks for the book is Kim Kardashian, who exclaimed on Insta Stories: 'So excited for this!'

The volume will be released by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, which engaged in a major bidding war last year to secure the rights.

'Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery,' Jennifer Bergstrom, Gallery Books Senior Vice President and Publisher, told the publication. 'I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact — and will be the publishing event of the year. We couldn’t be more proud to help her share her story at last.'

According to a press release from Gallery Books, the memoir is set to reveal 'for the first time her incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.'

The publisher also claimed the book 'illuminates the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.'

It further describes The Woman In Me as 'a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope.'

The book will reportedly cover not just the difficult 13-year conservatorship, but also Spears' rise to fame and her prime years as a performer.

According to Variety, the deal for the memoir was 'record-breaking,' and the agreement is believed to be worth as much as $15 million.

Spears finished writing the book in July of last year, but a paper shortage in the publishing industry at the time delayed the tome.

The memoir was also reported to have been delayed in May of this year over concerns from two unnamed A-list stars who wrote letters to the publisher about their potential portrayal in the book.

Spears has previously said that she was opting to skip interviews with high-profile figures including Oprah Winfrey in favor of telling her story in her own words.

The Woman In Me can already be preordered from multiple stores via Simon & Schuster.

The hardcover edition is apparently available for $32.99 in the US, while the digital edition can currently be reserved for $16.99, and the audio version is $24.99.
