Widespread damage in north St. Louis County after severe storms
SPANISH LAKE, Mo. – First responders in north St. Louis County are busy checking on residents after powerful winds passed through Friday night.
Storm damage took down power lines, trees and damaged some homes. No injuries have been reported as of Friday evening.
At least one house on Larimore Road near Aspen Woods Drive sustained damage to its gas meter when a tree hit it. Spire energy crews responded, and first responders briefly closed the area. Everyone living inside the home was okay.
Nate Tobias lives nearby and is without power for the second time this month after severe storms.
“The wind kicked in very, very hard,” said Tobias. “I started blowing trees left and right. Started hearing crackling and stuff like that and thunder crackling and next thing you know, power was flickering for a minute then it just went off and after that it kept bowing rain.”

Some families are also dealing with trees that fell onto their roofs. One resident tells FOX 2 he believes around three-quarters of the Spanish Lake community is without power late Friday evening.
