Diablo 4 Dev Has Funny Response When Fan Asks for Option to Turn Off PvP
A Diablo 4 developer gave a funny response when a fan asked for option to turn off the game's PvP. While Diablo 4 doesn't have a dedicated single-player mode, players can tackle all aspects of the game by themselves. For those who don't want to embark on a lone wolf journey, Diablo 4 also has different ways for players to interact with each other.
Diablo 4 offers the option to play co-op and explore Sanctuary with friends. Playing Diablo 4 in co-op brings benefits like trading items, extra hands to clear areas, and creating builds in synergy with party partners. Another form of multiplayer interaction in Diablo 4 is to enter PvP to hunt other players, survive their hunt, and get powerful items. In PvP, Diablo 4 players can get powerful rewards and Seeds of Hatred to convert into Red Dust and purchase special items.

Reddit user TheGoodDoctor17 shared a screenshot from Twitter where a Diablo 4 player asks to have the option to turn off the game's PvP. In a funny response, community manager Adam Fletcher gives the step-by-step for the player: don't enter the Fields of Hatred. One of the game's optional areas, the Fields of Hatred are areas of Diablo 4 designated for PvP. A player who enters this area can attack the monsters and other players if they choose to. The Twitter user insisted on the request to "enjoy the entire map of the game [they] bought," to which Fletcher only reiterated that there are no plans to turn off Diablo 4's PvP.
TheGoodDoctor17's post attracted more than 17,000 upvotes on the Diablo 4 subreddit and almost 3,000 comments where several users criticized the player's attitude. One of the comments criticized argued that buying Diablo 4 is not buying the game itself, but the license to play the game. Another comment also directed negative impressions at the player's request, saying that Diablo 4 was promoted and made with a PvP element. Other players discussed aspects of Diablo 4's PvP that they would like to see changed, and one Redditor recalled Whoopi Goldberg's outrage with Diablo 4. The famous actress purchased Diablo 4 to play on Mac, even though Blizzard never promoted the game as available for Mac.
Diablo 4 will follow the live-service model seen in games like Destiny 2 and Grand Theft Auto Online, meaning the game will get a constant stream of content to engage players for as long as possible. As such, players who don't want to interact with Diablo 4's PvP will still have plenty to do in the game's dark world. One example is going through Diablo 4's Nightmare Dungeons and picking up some high-quality loot.
