Only Todd Howard is 'Authorized' to Speak About Unreleased Starfield Game Info
A Starfield developer has confirmed that only Todd Howard is authorized to release any new information on Bethesda's newest RPG. With anticipation for Starfield at an all-time high, fans are hungry for more information on the highly-anticipated game.
2023 is a big year for major video game releases, and one of the most anticipated titles is Bethesda’s Starfield. One hardcore fan even created a 1,000 page compendium for Starfield based on information from the trailer alone. There's only two more months until fans can get their hands on the game, but many fans are too excited to wait. Bethesda has promised a lot with this game, and fans want as many details as they can get, as soon as possible.

Emil Pagliarulo, one of the developers for Starfield, posted three tweets stating that he’s not allowed to release any information on the new game. The first tweet immediately mentions that the only person allowed to talk publicly about Starfield is Todd Howard, the executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios. This confirms that if fans want new details on Starfield, they’ll have to wait until Todd Howard releases them himself. So fans trying to get information out of one of the other Starfield developers will be out of luck.
Pagliarulo’s second tweet sympathizes with the fanbase, pointing out that he understands how frustrating this can be. He mentions how humbling the anticipation for Starfield has been for him and how much it hurts that he can’t answer 99% of the questions about the game. In the third tweet, he clarifies that it’s not just questions that he can’t answer; he also can’t mention anything about the performance of the game or even his opinions on its development. He signed a non-disclosure agreement with Bethesda, so he can lose his job if any unreleased information links back to him. So for fans that worried about missing key features in Starfield, they’ll have to take their concerns to Todd Howard.
Most likely, Pagliarulo put out this series of tweets due to the amount of questions he must receive daily about the game. Of course, it's not a good idea to bother Todd Howard for more Starfield details either, as he's probably going to ignore most incoming questions as well. Hopefully, with this much secrecy behind the scenes, the game itself won’t get leaked out early like other titles this year have.
Starfield launches September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
