Live updates: Ukraine attacks Crimean bridge to Russia with drones
Ukraine’s military and security services were responsible for the attack on a key bridge that connects the Crimean peninsula to the Russian region of Krasnodar, a Ukrainian official said Monday. Ukraine used sea surface drones in the attack, the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of military operations. The bridge, which carries road and rail traffic and is an important supply artery for Russia’s war in Ukraine, was also the site of an explosion in October that required months of repairs. “It was difficult to reach the bridge, but in the end, it was possible to do it,” the official said, adding that Kyiv considers the bridge a legal target. Russia called the incident a “terrorist attack.”
