In the August 2019 interview with Jacksepticeye, he asked Brad and Margot what they do after switching off from being in the spotlight.

Brad said he enjoyed spending time with friends and family and being low key after filming: ....'We get to do our work in a pretty contained environment and there's a lot of downtime and a lot of time with friends and family.... which you know I've always... or I've come to feel that life first and work will follow. And so it's not so crazy but it's really just barbecues like anyone else...'

He turned to look at Margot and said 'you like a Bar-bie you love one' he said in reference to a barbeque but appearing to make a pun out of her newly signed role as Barbie.

She quipped back: 'Not a Bar-bie. A shrimp on the Bar-bie.'

Brad smirked when he made the joke - in reference to her upcoming role of Barbie - which had just signed on seven months prior to the interview.

The clip of Brad saying 'you're like a Barbie' went viral on Instagram and TikTok, as Margot fans thought it was hilarious how Margot reacted to Brad's sly reference during Once Upon A Time in Hollywood's press tour.

Brad and Margot starred in three films together: Babylon (in 2022), The Big Short (n 2015) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (in 2019).

Brad played Cliff Booth and Margot played Sharon Tate in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood; Leonardo DiCaprio played Rick Dalton.

Margot was in early talks to play Barbie as early as October 2018 and signed on to the project by early January 2019.

'Playing with Barbie promotes confidence, curiously and communication throughout a child's journey to self-discovery. Over the brand's almost 60 years, Barbie has empowered kids to imagine themselves in aspirational roles from a princess to president,' Margot said in a statement at the time of the announcement, via E! News.

Adding: 'I'm so honored to take on this role and produce a film that I believe will have a tremendously positive impact on children and audiences worldwide. I can't imagine better partners than Warner Bros. and Mattel to bring this film to the big screen.'

Greta signed on to direct Barbie officially in July 2021; however she was attached to the film since 2019 helping with the creative vision of the project.

Ryan Gosling was cast as Ken in fall 2021 with additional cast members Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon and America Ferrera cast in early 2022.

Filming kicked off in March 2022 in London at the Warner Bros. Leavesden Studios and wrapped in summer 2022; re-shoots were done in April 2023.

Margot serves as a producer on the film, along with her husband LuckyChap Entertainment's Tom Ackerley.

Other producers attached to the project are Josey McNamara, David Heyman and Mattel's Ynon Kreiz and Robbie Brenner.

The project was first at Sony with Amy Schumer as the title role; the release date of that film was set to be in 2018 but she dropped out of the project in 2017 citing scheduling conflicts.

After Amy's departure, Anne Hathaway was considered.

In October 2018, Sony's option for the Barbie project expired and it was transferred to Warner Brothers.

Margot, who grew up in Queensland, Australia, told People magazine: 'I didn't personally have any that I can recall. My sister did and I remember my cousin did. I would play with my cousin's, but I wasn't actually that much of a Barbie girl as a kid.'
