James Harden removes 76ers from Twitter bio, picture
James Harden no longer wants to be associated with the Philadelphia 76ers.
After requesting a trade out of the City of Brotherly Love in June, the guard is taking every measure possible to let the team know that he is over the situation — in this case, that meant removing all mention of Philadelphia from his social media accounts.
Harden removed “NBA Player for the Philadelphia 76ers” and a location of Philadelphia, PA. from his Twitter bio.
He instead simply promoted his wine business’s page, @jhardenwines, with all references to Philadelphia removed as well.
Similarly, the guard’s Instagram account has also been flushed of all things Philly.
The 2018 NBA MVP’s relationship with the organization has been reported to be “fractured.”
And although he opted into his $35.6 million player option to stay with the team, he has requested a trade and has his eyes set on joining the Los Angeles Clippers.

Despite the long-standing relationship with 76ers president Daryl Morey, Harden’s wishes aren’t expected to be met at the drop of a hat.
“I do have a long relationship with him. I’m attempting to honor that,” Morey said in a radio interview this week. “But the reality is that if we do look at a trade it’s going to be for one of two things.
“It’s either going to be for a player who continues to help us be right there like we were last year, up 3-2 on one of the best teams in the East, the Celtics.”

“If we don’t get either a very good player or something that we can turn into a very good player then we’re just not going to do it.”
Harden is coming off his 14th year in the league where he averaged 21 points, a league-leading 10.7 assists and 6.1 rebounds per night.
