Aaron Rodgers testing his defense
Observations from Jets training camp on Thursday.
Sight for sore eyes
Aaron Rodgers was at quarterback and hope returned to the Jets to start training camp. It has been ages since the Jets entered camp with this much optimism and you could feel it with the small group of VIP fans that were at the practice. It should be a fun summer for Jets fans watching Rodgers.

Gone missing
It was noticeable that the Jets are still missing some key pieces as they start training camp. This is a group with a lot of new players that needs time together, but running back Breece Hall, wide receiver Randall Cobb, tight end C.J. Uzomah and offensive tackle Duane Brown were all missing as practice begins. The Jets need them to get back quickly.
Caught my eye
The Jets cornerbacks had a good day. D.J. Reed, Michael Carter II and Jimmy Moreland all had pass breakups. The Jets have a strong group at corner and it will be fun to watch them battle Rodgers this summer.

Rodgers report
It was a quiet first day for Rodgers. He did not have many throws downfield, instead checking down to a running back frequently. He completed 6 of 10 passing attempts. He did have a beautiful, quick throw to tight end Tyler Conklin as the pass rush came in.
Medical report
Brown missed practice due to a personal reason. Robert Saleh said the team expects Uzomah and Cobb to come off the PUP list in a few days. Rookie DB Jarrick Bernard-Converse was wearing a walking boot on his left foot and is a few weeks away from returning.
