Margot Robbie had to do a little convincing to have Ryan Gosling star as Ken in the highly anticipated “Barbie” movie.

The Aussie actress, 33, who stars as the pink-loving doll in the film, made an offer to Gosling, 42, that he simply couldn’t refuse.

“I just bribed him really. That’s the basis of our relationship,” Robbie told the New York Times. “Just come do the ‘Barbie’ movie, I’ll buy you a present every day.”

Gosling revealed that the appealing offer “started as a joke in a text.”

“There was suddenly this pink present from Barbie to Ken, every day, for a very long shoot. It felt unsustainable,” the “La La Land” actor told the outlet.

“I thought this has to stop at some point. There were times on set where I got a puka shell necklace.”

“You don’t have to keep doing this,” he said to Robbie. “I’m sure you have other things to do, like produce a movie and star in a movie, and run a company. And produce other people’s films. You don’t have to keep concerning yourself with this.”

“I commit to a joke. I really do,” Robbie quipped.

The hotly-anticipated film, directed by Greta Gerwig, is released Friday, July 21.

When quizzed on the “weirdest” gift he’s received from the “Babylon” star, Gosling said there was one present that stood out in particular.

“She gave me a book as a joke about horses and I read it and loved it. I feel it would make a great film. It was very unexpected,” he added.

It comes as Gosling revealed his kids were completely unfazed when they found out he would be playing Ken in the film, directed by Greta Gerwig.

Speaking to People, the “Notebook” actor said his daughters Esmeralda, 8, and Amada, 7, whom he shares with longtime partner Eva Mendes, were left “confused” at the news.

“My kids were my introduction to [‘Barbie’],” he told the outlet. “I think they’re confused as to why I would want to play Ken. They have no use for Ken.”

Despite their initial confusion, Gosling said his daughters helped him prep for the role.

“My kids were around for the months at home, as I was prepping for it,” he shared. “So they, inadvertently, were prepping for it too.”

“And they came to set that day and were a huge sense of support and doing it with me off-camera,” he added.
