Samsung will unveil its next-generation foldable phones during its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 26. And the company is already accepting pre-reservations for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, offering a $50 credit. However, before the launch, it has started teasing the Galaxy Z Flip 5 through short videos on social media, and one of such videos confirms that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a no-gap hinge.

Earlier this year, rumors started that Samsung will finally shift to a no-gap hinge for its upcoming foldable phones, just like other Chinese smartphone brands did. However, some rumors recently claimed the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 still have a small gap between their folding halves when the phone is folded. However, those rumors turned out to be inaccurate. A short teaser video posted by Samsung on Instagram and Twitter reveals that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 folds completely flat, leaving no gap near its hinge.

As you can see in the video above, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 seems to have flat sides. There doesn’t appear to be any gap when it is completely folded, unlike previous-generation Galaxy Z series phones. This makes the phone look good and more resistant to dust and debris that can sometimes damage the hinge.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is getting a huge design makeover, featuring a 3.4-inch cover screen that lets users use more detailed widgets, mini-apps, and a full on-screen keyboard to reply to messages. It is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, a bigger 12MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP selfie camera, and a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast charging. It could have stereo speakers and an IPX7 rating for water resistance.

If you’re impressed by the Galaxy Z Flip 5 or the Galaxy Z Fold 5, you can pre-reserve them from Samsung.com and get a $50 credit. You can use this to buy accessories or negate it from your final bill.
