Alia took to her Instagram space and treated her fans and followers to several photos from the red carpet at what is called ‘fashion’s biggest night out’. For her much-anticipated MET Gala debut, Alia Bhatt was seen donning a white gown with a huge tulle. She opted for a nude makeup look while her hair was done half up, and she wore a bow of pearls. Alia accessorized with a pair of statement diamond earrings and bracelets. She smiled at the paparazzi as they clicked her on the red carpet.
The Heart of Stone actress was right on theme as she paid tribute to Karl Lagerfeld’s life and legacy at the event tonight. Alia took to her Instagram space to share the details behind the inspiration for her gorgeous ensemble and gave a much-deserved shout-out to designer Prabal Gurung.

In the caption of her post, Alia wrote, “I have always been fascinated by the iconic Chanel brides. Season after season, the genius of Karl Lagerfeld shone through in the most innovative and awe-inspiring couture. My look tonight was inspired from this and in particular by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look.”
Continuing further, Alia added, I wanted to do something that felt authentic (hello, pearls!) and proudly made in India. The embroidery, made with a 100,000 pearls is a labour of love by @prabalgurung. I’m so proud to wear you for my first Met.”
“Oh, and it’s white, for my Choup-ED (cat emoji),” Alia concluded.
Alia Bhatt’s work front
On the acting front, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, alongside her husband Ranbir Kapoor. She will next be seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani where she will share screen space with Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi. Alia will also make her Hollywood debut with the action thriller Heart of Stone, where she will co-star with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
