Man dead, woman injured after shooting near Temple University's campus
Police are investigating a deadly double shooting near Temple University's campus in North Philadelphia on Saturday.
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a deadly double shooting near Temple University's campus in North Philadelphia on Saturday.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. on the 1700 block of Cecil B Moore Avenue, about two blocks from the Liacouras Center but not on the university's campus.
Temple University police officers heard the gunshots while on patrol.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers said the man was in his 20s and suffered from gunshot wounds to his chest, back, and leg.
They said the woman was 22 years old and suffered a gunshot wound to her thigh.
Both victims were transported to Temple University Hospital, where the man died a short time later.
The woman is listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made and no weapon was recovered at the scene.
