Olivia Munn jokes that 'it takes two adults to put sunscreen on one toddler' during beach day with partner John Mulaney and son Malcolm
Olivia Munn and John Mulaney both became first-time parents with the arrival of their son Malcolm in November 2021.
Since then the couple have on occasion shared about some of the lessons they've learned as new parents on their social media platforms.
On Saturday, during a family trip to the beach, the actress, 43, and the comedian, 40, learned another hard parental lesson when they tried putting sunscreen on 20-month-old Malcolm.
Olivia shared their struggles in a series of photos on Instagram, but was able to keep a sense of humor after it was all said and done.
'It takes two adults to put sunscreen on one toddler. And we didn’t even do a good job,' the Iron Man 2 star joked in the caption.
Beach mode: Olivia Munn, 43, jokingly admitted she and partner John Mulaney, 40, struggled to put sunscreen on to their 20-month-old son Malcolm during a family beach day
In the first series of four photos, Munn can be seen applying the sunscreen all over Malcom, less than 100 feet from the incoming weaves from the ocean.
Dressed in white shorts with a matching sheer top over her bikini, the proud mama examined her hands which were full of the white lotion.
Mulaney was on the other side of their son trying to wipe off the excess sunscreen from his legs.
'Putting sunscreen on a toddler is incredibly difficult,' Munn professed in another photo showing her applying the lotion.
The actress followed up the post by admitting her lack of talent when it comes to sunscreen application.
'As you can see I'm [very] bad at it,' she wrote, inside another photo showing their boy doused with the white lotion.
After admitting her struggle, Munn slipped into promo mode by taking pride in having her family drink the so-called modern day soda, Poppi, which contains apple cider vinegar that gives the drink all kinds of prebiotic benefits.
'But I've got my family's #guthealth in check,' she joked in the caption that had an arrow pointing to a couple of cans of Poppi that were sitting on the sand in between Malcom and his daddy.

The couple went public with their relationship in May 2021, which was just months after he had finished a 60 day rehab program for substance abuse.
By September of that same year, they announced they were expecting their first child together, and then Malcolm made his grand arrival two months later, in November 2021.
