Cher surprises fans by announcing sweet new business venture with the launch of her very own gelato brand: 'This is real'
Cher has shown to be a multi-faceted performer since rising to fame in 1965 as one half of the folk rock husband-wife duo Sonny & Cher.
Widely known for her award winning career as a singer and an actress, the California native has also parlayed her celebrity into many other business ventures that includes everything from being the face of numerous beauty brands as a model, her own fashion lines, perfumes, among many others.
And now Cher (born Cherilyn Sarkisian) is about to drop an unexpected, but sweet, new company that has nothing to do with the entertainment industry: her very own gelato brand.
'Yep, This Is Real…. I'm Launching My Gelato….' the 77-year-old announced in the caption of a video posted on her Instagram page on Saturday, July 22. 'Watch Out LA‼️'
The clip, which came complete with a snippet of her hit song Believe, shows an ice cream truck branded with the name and various portraits of Cher in the shape of ice cream cones.

'Cher-lato' it read across the two long sides of the truck that featured such tasty colors as yellow, pink, orange, and peach, along with her various portrait images plastered on the sides and the back.
The Strong Enough star went on to confess she has been working on this particular business idea since 2018.
'All Started 5 Years Ago And Now It’s Finally HAPPENING,' she revealed, before teasing her 2.6 million fans and followers that there's 'More To Come….'
In the clip, the camera begins with the largest image of Cher painted on the truck, showing her holding up a cone full of her tasty treat as she's about to take a bite.
The show then slowly moves around the parked vehicle, to give viewers a look at the cone-shaped images of herself, which also vary in colors, all while the clip of Believe plays along.
Following its release as the first single to her studio album of the same name, Believe went on to be nominated for Record Of The Year and Best Dance Recording, winning the latter at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in February 2000.
Fans of the entertainment icon wasted little time in sharing their thoughts on her new venture, many of which were very enthusiastic and supportive with comments like, 'Omg this is the best thing ever' and 'I am so excited'.
'Love the colors and graphics on the truck! Totally CHERness!' one person wrote, while there were others who referenced her many successes throughout her career by writing, 'what can’t you do.'

It turns out a choice few people have already gotten a taste of the new Cher gelato, and gave it a thumbs up.
'Yesterday, I sampled a chocolate scoop in a "gold" covered cone from the truck parked off Sunset Boulevard. It was a decadent delight! Tickled to be amongst the first to try the treat. Wishing you and @giapokitchen a smashing success,' that lucky fan shared, along with a red heart emoji.
Then, there were others who are offering up suggestions to Cher about flavors they would prefer, with a comments like: 'I hope you have a vegan option Goddess' and 'Please have melon. I cannot find melon gelato anywhere but Spain and Italy. Thanks.'
Being the multitasker that she has been for decades, Cher also slipped into promo mode for one of her new songs on Instagram in recent days.
