Update: Street Fighter 6's online servers are now down for maintenance. You can see how long they'll be offline, and what's arriving when they come back online in the story below.

Street Fighter 6 has been out in the hands of players for over a month and a half now, and it's about to get its first major update since launch.

Capcom is preparing to unleash Rashid into the world of SF6 as the game's first DLC character, and they'll be pulling down the online servers for quite some time to get everything ready.

The game's server maintenance is scheduled to begin tonight, July 23, at 8 p.m. PDT / 11 p.m. EDT and last until around midnight PDT / 3 a.m. EDT though it may last longer or finish early.

All of SF6's online features will be unavailable for the duration of the maintenance though a lot of people are probably going to be hopping on as soon as it's back.

If this works like Street Fighter 5, Rashid should be available to use when the maintenance is done, at least for those who have the Year One DLC pass.

Players will also finally be able to use their rental fighter tickets to play with Rashid for an hour without paying anything though we'll have to see if you can use multiple tickets on the same character.

Rashid has just about everything back from his SF5 kit plus some brand new moves that'll allow him to basically perform double jumps and air dashes for more movement and mixup options.

He won't be the only thing coming in the update either.

Capcom previously confirmed they'll be adding a new input option for Drive Rush cancels in the game alongside Rashid too.

The developers have said they only plan to release major balance updates once a year, so we shouldn't expect much if anything on that front here.

We could still see, however, some bug fixes and other minor adjustments for aspects of the game that may not be working as the devs intended.
