Elon Musk reportedly screws over San Francisco man in Twitter rebrand

Twitter’s dreaded (and Elon Musk-coveted) rebrand to X has been nothing short of a disaster in the days since its launch — between a still-changing logo and brand identity with a bevy of copyright land mines, its inconsistent launch across the Twitter website, a failure to launch properly in Japan and San Francisco police presence at its headquarters. Now, Musk has seemingly taken a brute force approach with a San Francisco man who stood in the way of the company’s pivot.
The man, San Francisco photographer Gene X. Hwang, got all but got screwed over in the process, according to interviews he did with Mashable and TechCrunch. Hwang is a San Francisco photographer who co-founded the company Orange Photography and has been on Twitter — presumably under the @x handle — since March 2007.
