FIVE STRAIGHT WINS. When the Cubs have needed it most, they are taking care of business.

This one looked bad early. Very bad. Marcus Stroman’s struggles continued, and although he once again didn’t get enough help behind him on defense, he was also getting hit pretty hard at times. He needs that pristine command to be at his most successful, and it seems to have eluded him ever since that blister issue (and that error) in London.

But enough about that for now. Because this was a COMEBACK.

These Cubs are not interested in quitting. Down 7-2 in the 5th, they batted around, scoring 6 runs – with some big help from Sox pitchers, especially Joe Kelly – and taking the lead on the strength of three hits, three walks, two HBP, and a wild pitch third strike. Lol. The last 3 runs of the inning came on the strikeout wild pitch, a walk, and a walk:

Ian Happ and Cody Bellinger added on with a couple homers:

And the bullpen was outstanding, never giving the White Sox hopes of turning things around.

Off to St. Louis to keep this streak rolling.
