Post Malone, 28, opened up about his life as a father, his social anxiety and rumors that he has used hard drugs in a new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music.

Addressing ongoing concerns about his health, the Better Now rapper said, 'I shouldn't really have to justify anything to anyone,' while emphasizing that he had 'never' done hard drugs.

He added that becoming a parent had changed his perspective on partying.

'It’s really slowed me down a lot, party wise, going out and being crazy,' the Sunflower singer reflected.

The heavily tattooed rapper welcomed a daughter with his fiancée Jamie back in May 2022.

Elsewhere, he spoke about his struggles being a major star while living with social anxiety.

'I have a hard time communicating with people, he admitted, seemingly saying he had difficulties introducing himself to others. 'And I don’t know, it’s a really… Especially now. I was saying before, whenever I was a kid, I would walk, run around, and I’d be like, "Hey." I didn’t really care. Now, I don’t know why. It’s a really interesting thing.'

Although he may not have used serious drugs, he did admit to requiring alcohol to help him make music, though he thought his consumption when he wasn't working was not a problem

'I have a very hard time expressing myself via recording if I’m not a little f***ed up. It’s a good spot now because if I’m not recording or I’m not talking to people or if I’m not doing shows, I really do drink just to have fun,' he said. 'It’s having a beer with my dad or with my bud.'

Post also admitted to taking hallucinogenic mushrooms. Although it is illegal to consume Psilocybin-producing mushrooms outside of some isolated cities, other less-potent psychedelic mushrooms are legal in much of the US.

Although he admitted to 'lik[ing]' the mushrooms, he said he took less than he used to because they 'affected my short term memory.'

'Maybe it was just a stint of habitual overuse. Daily,' he mused.

Now, he can take a square of a chocolate bar containing psilocybin and 'just laugh and laugh and laugh.'

The hitmaker also noted that the substance has been a tremendous help to a 'ranger buddy' of his who suffers from PTSD.

Despite his relatively young age, Post Malone has been a big name in the music industry since 2011.

He set Billboard records from the moment he released his first full-length album Stoney in 2016, with the single Congratulations earning Diamond certification.

A decade after his entry into the music sphere, the Rockstar rapper is now one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

However, the artist's success didn't happen without a cost to Post's mental health.

While he continued to deny ever using hard drugs in the Apple Music interview, he has been honest in the past about his struggles with alcoholism.

He credited the lady in his life for helping him heal from excessive drinking, opening up about his dark era on The Howard Stern Show.

'I met a really beautiful person that made me feel like a human being again,' the I Fall Apart artist admitted, referring to Jamie's influence in his life.

During the Apple Music interview, the 28-year-old noted that he was grateful that his fans were concerned about his health, but it was frustrating to him that that concern led to rumors about what he took behind the scenes.

Adding that he wanted to finally take time to stop and smell the roses during the Apple Music interview, Post noted, 'I just want to take a second and enjoy it.'

Wisely realizing that it was easy to get swept up in a maelstrom of fame and stardom, the Feeling Whitney star sagely added, 'I never really got time or really had the bandwidth to experience the journey to its fullest.'

'So I guess that’s what I’m trying to do now,' he declared.

The rapper's next highly anticipated album is self-titled Austin, which drops everywhere on July 28.

When quizzed about other musical artists that have shaped his sound, he praised Radiohead as being 'f***ing bada**,' and he also said he was a big fan of Fleetwood Mac, and specifically the band's singer Stevie Nicks.
