Dodgers Showing Strong Trade Interest in Duo of Mets Stars
The Dodgers are showing strong trade interest in this duo of Mets stars.
Things are beginning to heat up.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are showing trade interest in New York Mets outfielders Tommy Pham and Mark Canha, as sources told Inside the Mets.
Per sources, the Mets are seeking a lower minor league prospect outside of an organization's top 10 in exchange for Canha. It is unknown as to what they're seeking in return for Pham, but it could be similar.
The Mets began their sale on Thursday night by trading closer David Robertson to the Miami Marlins for prospects Marco Vargas and Ronald Hernandez.
Beyond Robertson, the Mets are expected to trade Pham and Canha in the next week. They have been fielding calls from teams regarding both players.
The Mets could also look to deal left-handed reliever Brooks Raley and backup catcher Omar Narvaez.
They may be open to trading co-aces Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer, but that would be tricky due to salary and no-trade clauses.
With Robertson gone, the Mets could deal Pham and Canha next, and the Dodgers are a possible landing destination.
