Members of a Crown Court jury were taken to meet Kevin Spacey and shook hands with the actor after they cleared him of sexually assaulting four men, witnesses have claimed.

The group of jurors are said to have met with Kevin Spacey and been thanked by him following his trial at Southwark Crown Court.

Around half dozen members of the jury reportedly waited outside the courthouse to see if they could meet him, according to reports, with it even described as a 'meet and greet' by one journalist.

They were taken back into the foyer to meet Spacey, where he was also said to have 'made a brief bow towards them with his arms crossed across his chest', Variety reports.

The actor appeared to be weeping and thanking the jurors, The Sunday Times has reported, and the scene was described as being 'like watching Spacey greet his fans on the red carpet'.

One court reporter who was outside on Friday said that he had 'never seen anything like it', according to the newspaper.

Some jurors are also thought to have shaken hands with two of Spacey's team, including his assistant and friend Evan Lowenstein, as they came by.

The double Oscar winner was overcome with emotion when the jury at London's Southwark Crown Court returned not guilty verdicts on all counts following the high-profile trial.

Spacey was accused of abusing his fame and power to carry out nine sex attacks on four men during his tenure as artistic director of the Old Vic theatre.

But he insisted the claims were 'madness' and accused the claimants of 'lying for money'.

He reportedly celebrated the not guilty verdict, which came on his 64th birthday, at a London private members club hours after it was delivered.

He was spotted sipping whisky with about seven friends at the Groucho Club, a private members spot in Soho on Wednesday night, according to reports.

A witness told Page Six 'he looked very proud' and 'was sitting by the entrance for everyone to see.'

Some jurors are also thought to have shaken hands with Spacey's assistant and friend Evan Lowenstein (pictured together at the Emmy Awards in 2016)

'He spent the evening nursing a whisky,' the onlooker said. 'They didn't sing Happy Birthday but everyone seemed in good spirits.'

Spacey reportedly left the club at around midnight, with an umbrella shielding him from the rain.

The conclusion of Spacey's high-profile trial on Friday saw him dramatically cleared of sexually assaulting four men.

On the steps of the court after the verdicts were delivered, the US actor thanked the jury, his legal team as well as his longtime friend Lowenstein for standing by him.

He said: 'I imagine that many of you can understand that there's a lot for me to process after what has just happened today.

'But I would like to say that I'm enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts, carefully, before they reached their decision.

'I am humbled by the outcome today. I also want to thank the staff inside this courthouse, the security, my legal team and Evan Lowenstein for being here every day.'

Speaking of the impact of the allegations against him earlier in the trial, Spacey told the jury: 'I've lost everything.'

The allegations against the actor not only shredded what had been a glittering career but also had major financial implications, with the star told to pay £25.5million to the producers of House of Cards after he was sacked.

He has also been landed with at least £1million in defence fees and suffered the humiliation of being edited out of the Sir Ridley Scott film All The Money In The World.
