One dead after shelter in place in northern Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - One person is dead after a shelter in place was ordered in northern Colorado Springs.
This was on north Chestnut street, just south of I-25 and Garden of the Gods.
Police told 11 News they initially responded to a domestic incident in the area. When they arrived, they issued a shelter-in-place order. This was around 2:40 p.m. The call involved a report of shots fired.
The order lasted over an hour as police said they were working to make contact with a suspect. It was cleared just before 4 p.m. Police said one person died, but they have not confirmed how. They did say there was no officer-involved shooting.
They also told 11 News no one was arrested but there is no threat to the public.
