Two people were killed and another was injured Saturday in three separate Oakland attacks, and police are also investing three Friday shootings that resulted in injuries.

Just after 3 p.m. Saturday near 13th Street and Mandela Parkway, police found a woman with traumatic wounds. Paramedics declared her dead, and her identity was not released pending notification of next of kin.

Earlier Saturday, police responded to a report of an unresponsive person on the 600 block of Alma Avenue just after 11 a.m. and found a victim with apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced the victim, whose identity was not immediately released pending notification of next of kin, dead at the scene.

Anyone with information on either attack is asked to contact the Oakland Police Department’s homicide division at 510-238-3821 or the tip line at 510-238-7950.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a shooting earlier Saturday in which one person was injured on Interstate 980 in Oakland.

At 4:07 a.m., officers were notified of a shooting on the eastbound highway near 11th Street, the CHP said.

Two people in a white Lexus sedan heard gunshots from the right side of the vehicle as they were entering the freeway, according to authorities. The front right passenger was shot in the chin and was transported by the driver to a local hospital. The victim’s condition was not immediately known.

Anyone with information on the I-980 shooting is asked to call the CHP Oakland area office at 510-457-2875 and ask for Officer Saldana.

On Friday night, three men were shot in Oakland in just over an hour — two in a drive-by attack in East Oakland and one in a road rage incident in West Oakland, according to a media report.
