Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Lights Up All of Hyrule Castle Using Brightbloom Seeds
Highlights A player creatively brightened up the gloomy Hyrule Castle in Tears of the Kingdom by strategically placing Brightbloom Seeds, resulting in an impressive transformation.
Brightbloom Seeds are typically used to illuminate dark caves or areas in the game, and the player used Giant Brightbloom Seeds for maximum effect.
The entire process of lighting up Hyrule Castle took approximately 50 minutes, so players should allocate sufficient time for this task.
An innovative Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player managed to strategically place dozens of Brightbloom Seeds onto Hyrule Castle, making it appear less gloomy. The video of the end result is one of the most impressive uses of Brightbloom Seeds in Tears of the Kingdom to date.
Hyrule Castle has had a rough time lately. In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Castle became a dilapidated shell of its former glory, taken over by Calamity Gannon. In that game, Hyrule Castle was surrounded by Guardians and was very hard to traverse. Fast forward to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Hyrule Castle is in a similar situation. Gannon is back, and this time he’s managed to lift the crown jewel of Hyrule up into the air, suspending it above a chasm, making it impossible for most residents to get to. Worst yet, the castle looks nothing like it did in its prime, instead appearing as a dark, sinister version of itself.

Reddit user Dugimah was tired of the castle’s dark demeanor and posted a video of how to brighten it up. The clip starts off during nighttime with Link flying around Hyrule Castle on an air bike, with the message exclaiming that the castle has seen better days. After a quick “a few moments later” title card, the video shows Link jumping back on his air bike at the Second Gatehouse, flying away after getting the job done. The camera pans around him as the new and improved Hyrule Castle is shown off with Brightbloom Seeds strategically placed at each high point. The end result looks more like the Magical Kingdom at Disney World than the traditional Hyrule Castle.
Most players use Brightbloom Seeds in dark caves or the depths of Hyrule in order to see in front of them. Players can also use the glowing Miner’s Armor in Tears of the Kingdom in case they run out of Brightbloom Seeds. It’s not explained in the video, but it appears as if Dugimah used Giant Brightbloom Seeds, as those would create enough light to be seen so far away.
Dugimah also explained in a comment that the entire process for the job took about 50 minutes to complete. So for Tears of the Kingdom players looking to light up Hyrule Castle, they should set aside a good amount of time to do so.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
