The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models will feature significant upgrades compared to the current models. From Dynamic Island on the standard models and titanium finish on the 'Pro' models. Apple has planned a lot for users this fall. Alongside the flagship handsets, the company is also expected to announce the new Apple Watch Series 9 and a refreshed version of the Apple Watch Ultra. A new report suggests that this year's Apple Watch Ultra could arrive in a titanium finish, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro but in a darker color.

Apple Watch Ultra is expected to come in a dark gray titanium finish, but it could cost more than the current model

Currently, we are not familiar if the titanium finish on the iPhone 15 Pro will feature a darker or a lighter color. It could be true that the company has planned two variants of the titanium finishes for the iPhone, a lighter and a darker finish. However, nothing can be said for certain at this stage since the final word rests with Apple. According to the latest iteration of the Power On newsletter by Mark Gurman, Apple tasted a dark titanium finish for the original Apple Watch Ultra.

The company tested a dark gray titanium finish for the original Apple Watch Ultra last year but scrapped its plans for unknown reasons. However, Gurman suggests that the dark gray titanium finish could arrive this year with the upgraded Apple Watch Ultra. It makes sense for Apple to adopt titanium on the Apple Watch Ultra as the wearable is targeted towards professional athletes, trainers, and professionals. Titanium is stronger but lighter, which could help Apple reduce the weight of the Apple Watch Ultra.

While the new dark gray titanium finish would be a great addition, it could increase the price of the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra. In the past, Apple has been charging $100 for the titanium Apple Watch and given the 'Ultra' is the most expensive model, it could be priced even higher. However, the company could give users a choice to buy the standard or the titanium model. Currently, the Apple Watch Ultra is only available in a single color and finish. This means that the company could be diversifying the lineup for more options for the end user.

The Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra will also feature upgraded internals for enhanced computational and graphical performance with the new S9 chip. Apple's S9 chip for the Apple Watch will be the first major upgrade since the launch of the Apple Watch Series 6, as it will be based on the A15 Bionic chip. With faster performance and a new finish, the company could end up boosting sales for the Apple Watch.
