15K without power in Springfield at outage's peak
UPDATE 8:30 A.M.:
According to City Utilities Spokesperson Joel Alexander, at the peak of the outage this morning, 15,000 customers were without power. That number has now dropped to around 10,000 customers as crews work to restore power to the city.
Many are without power across Christian, Greene and Taney counties. The Branson Walmart is closed for the day due to the outage.
The Taney County Sheriff’s Office is without power and internet due to a fiber line cue outside of the county. Deputies are asking anyone to email Dispatch1@taneycountymo.gov for non-emergency issues and to call 911 for emergencies, though those calls may be answered by another agency.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Thousands are without power this morning after strong storms tore through southwest Missouri overnight.
There are reports of 70 mph winds and damage to trees, homes and power lines.
A flash flood warning is in effect for eastern Greene County and Christian County.
As of 4 a.m., the City Utilities outage map showed customers without power in all parts of Springfield.
“We’ve got all tree and line crews in and have called for additional contract crews,” CU spokesperson Joel Alexander said.
The number to report a power outage in Springfield is 417-863-9000.

The KOLR10 news station has been without power since around midnight.
