Warriors fans were easy to spot in Sacramento during Sunday’s epic Game 7 finale that featured a 50-piece from Steph Curry.

Wearing his orange 2009-10 Warriors jersey with the lightning bolt font, Christian Gamboa stuck out amidst the crowd of white shirts at the Kings home arena. As Steph stomped on the hopes of Sacramento in the third quarter, Gamboa was captured going nuts in the crowd by TV cameras and quickly went viral.

95.7 The Game tracked down Gamboa and he joined “The Morning Roast” for a hilarious interview about the game and how he ended up in hospital afterwards.

“Man, that was one of the best feelings in the world,” Gamboa told hosts Bonta Hill and Joe Shasky. “We went up five and he came back down, Steph did his magic and was being a magician again. I just let it all loose, let it all out and let them hear me. I just felt like it was the Roaracle days. It kinda brought me back, too. Listening to all those Kings fans, they gave it all. Every time they scored or there was a turnover, that’s how it used to be (in Oakland). I wish Chase Center was like that. I hope Game 1 we can bring all those feelings back, let them hear everything we got.”

Gamboa, from Union City, used to be a season-ticket holder at Oracle Arena in Oakland and lived through the Warriors dark ages before the arrival of Curry in 2009. Gamboa was at the game with his girlfriend and she tried to calm him down, but there was no stopping the diehard Dubs fan, who also got some support from Gary Payton II.

“I had GP2 over there, he was sitting with all of those other trainers over there trying to amp me up,” Gamboa said. “I was already amped, you can’t amp me no more.”

After the game, Gamboa said things got fuzzy.

“I’ll be honest, I was drinking a little too much and you could just see all the blood vessels popping out of my face,” Gamboa said. “I just remember GP2 pointing at me and I was like, ‘What?’ My girl was like, ‘I think he wants to sign something.’ I was like, ‘OK’ but I couldn’t find my pen. I walked down and I don’t remember anything after that. To be honest I went to the hospital. I was dehydrated.”

In his blacked-out haze, Gamboa still managed to get his shoe signed by Payton. What a legend.

Man, I keep looking at my shoe.. Had this for 8 years. Finally got a player to sign. Thanks @Garydwayne pic.twitter.com/PlpbOX03ge — christian gamboa (@StngthinumrsBro) May 2, 2023

Gamboa woke up to more than 100 texts with everyone sending him links to social media posts. He had to create a Twitter account just to see the content – and you can follow him at @StngthinumrsBro.

The Kings fans around Gamboa were “welcoming” throughout the game and he enjoyed silencing them while being able to go nuts in enemy territory.

“They got real quiet real quick,” Gamboa said. “I do that all the time if I’m there. If I can afford it within a budget, I’m going, man. This is like once-in-a-lifetime Game 7. And I can’t ask for nothing more. Especially to see Steph drop 50 chicken nuggets on them.”

Gamboa’s huge burst of emotion has made him the face of Dub Nation at the moment, but his girlfriend doesn’t seem to care.

“I don’t think she’s impressed,” Gamboa said. “She’s hard to impress, man. She’s tough.”
