The good news is that the Cubs’ bats are still doing some things. Not enough things tonight – definitely some VERY missed opportunities – but some nice things. And with Jeimer Candelario on the way, they can do even more things.
The good news is also that the energy at Wrigley Field tonight was outstanding. On our feet constantly. Into the game. Feeling the significance of the match-up tonight. It’s been a while since we’ve had that with the calendar flipping to August, so it’s appreciated.
The good news is also that the bullpen was outstanding tonight. Javier Assad, my dude. Stepping up in a very big way.
