1 man shot in Food Lion parking lot in Raleigh shopping center
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A shooting is under investigation at a popular shopping center in North Raleigh.
Chopper 11 flew over the scene shortly before 6 p.m. It happened near the Food Lion in the Greystone Village Shopping Center near the Lead Mine Road and Sawmill Road intersection.
Investigators roped off a section of the parking lot outside the Food Lion and focused their investigation on a dark colored SUV parked there.
Raleigh Police Department said the man was shot shortly after 5 p.m. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
It remains unclear what caused the shooting or if anyone is in custody. However, RPD did say there was no ongoing threat to the community.
