VENICE, Fla. — A 15-year-old girl died on Sunday while training at a horse show facility in Venice, Florida.

The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) stated that Hannah Serfass was riding a 12-year-old horse, during an equitation class when the horse tripped and suffered a rotation fall.

According to Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, the horse had landed its jump but later tripped forward and landed on top of the rider’s body. EMT responded to Fox Lea Farm Spring Concours I and transported Serfass to Sarasota Memorial.
