Meg Ryan sparks surgery speculation in rare outing
Meg Ryan made a rare public appearance in New York City on Wednesday night, stepping out to support Michael J. Fox at a screening of his new documentary “STILL.”
The “Sleepless In Seattle,” star, 61, posed for photos with Fox, with many left enamored by the pair’s enduring friendship.
However, some social media pundits were distracted by the actress’s appearance, saying she was “unrecognizable” — and may have had some cosmetic tweaks.
“WTF has Meg Ryan done to her face?!” one baffled fan asked.
“Is that really Meg Ryan? If so that’s such a shame and incredibly sad,” another cynic sniped.
“Lay off the filler!!!” a third chimed in, implying that the beauty may have had some non-surgical work.
Meanwhile, multiple cruel trolls claimed that the “When Harry Met Sally” star was starting to resemble Madonna, 64, who has also hit headlines for her famous face.
“Her and Madonna obviously have the same plastic surgeon,” one declared.
“Meg Ryan and Madonna should team up for a horror flick,” another nasty Twitter troll stated.

However, several supporters hit back, defending the star’s looks.
“Meg Ryan looks exactly as different as you would expect a 61-year-old to look,” one declared.
Reclusive Ryan rarely makes public appearances. Wednesday’s outing was her first media event in more than six months.

The Hollywood sweetheart has not spoken publicly about whether or not she’s had any cosmetic work, despite more than a decade of speculation about her appearance.
Back in 2016, The Huffington Post published an article titled “Meg Ryan’s Face Is None of Our Business,” after the actress started trending on Twitter after she appeared at that year’s Tony Awards.
Ryan hasn’t been seen in a big-screen movie since 2015’s “Ithaca,” however the star last year thrilled fans by announcing she was returning to romcom roots.

Ryan, long known as the queen of the genre, announced that she would star and direct the romantic comedy “What Happens After.”
David Duchovny has also been attached to star, although production details have not yet been made public.
The movie is based on Steven Dietz’s play “Shooting Star” and follows ex-lovers Willa (Ryan) and Bill (Duchovny), who are reunited by force when they’re snowed in at an airport overnight. Willa is independent, while Bill is recently separated and assessing his life and relationships with his estranged wife and daughter, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
