Video: Redfall Xbox Series X Vs. Xbox Series S Vs. PC Comparison
@Sebatrox I've been saying it for a while too - hence Bethesda has their own separate showcase, own separate marketing and the game is 'published' by Bethesda too...
@Fenbops I agree - as I said, I don't expect MS to be 'happy' and/or willing to let Zenimax/Bethesda reflect badly on them. I don't think they expected it to 'hurt' as badly as it has, or that Zenimax would release in this condition - even though its not too 'unusual'.
Either I expect some guidelines/standards to be put in place for Bethesda to adhere to or a change in the way the whole group is managed. As you increase 'Studio's', it perhaps makes sense to have one overseeing one group and another overseeing another group rather than just one person having to go round every studio, but they need to be 'consistent' so either need 'standards' to adhere to or 'training' to ensure consistency.
I am not 'angry', as long as both Bethesda and MS 'learn' from this and implement changes so this doesn't happen again. MS has given Bethesda enough 'freedom' to prove they can deliver, but if they 'fail', then you either remove those 'freedoms' completely, or 'train' them, set 'guidelines/standards' and/or reduce some of their 'freedom' - like monitoring, re-evaluating, re-assessing and/or reviewing everything and only stepping in as required - instead of being completely hands off or taking over completely.
You have to give them a chance to prove they can succeed too - so I don't begrudge MS from being 'hands-off', but I do also expect MS to 'demand' better and/or make necessary changes to prevent this from happening again...
You could say the same about 343i, but we know that changes have been made since H:I released. I bet MS also couldn't make 'too' many changes at Zenimax without evaluating who they 'acquired' - and some probably had 'job protection' under the 'merger' too...
