DraftKings Sportsbook preview: UFC 288

The main event of UFC 288 sees the return of former two-division champion and Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo, who returns to the cage after three years away. He’ll face current 135-pound champ Aljamain Sterling, who will be making his third defense of the title after initially winning it via disqualification in 2021.

Cejudo came to MMA as a decorated wrestler, but in his time as a UFC champ, he showed off a well-rounded game that didn’t depend solely on takedowns and top control. Sterling, on the other hand, has employed a more grappling-heavy style in his time atop the division. He’s an expert at not only getting opponents down, but on taking their backs and attacking with chokes at every opportunity.

In his prime, Cejudo might have excelled in this sort of stylistic matchup. But now at 36, and after three years out of action, it’s hard to know what to expect from him. Will he be as quick and as sharp as he was the last time we saw him, just before he willingly relinquished his UFC belts and walked away? Or will he show signs of age and rust, which could doom him against a champ at the height of his powers?

DraftKings currently has Cejudo as a slight -115 favorite in the fight, with Sterling at -105. The over/under on total rounds is 4.5, with +125 odds on the bout ending in under 4.5 rounds, and -155 odds on it going over. DraftKings also offers odds on method of victory, as well as round props and more.
