One dead after shooting at Rose State College; suspect in custody
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (KFOR) – An Active Shooter Alert was issued at Rose State College just after noon Monday.
Authorities are on scene near the campus’ humanities building.
Officials say one person has died and the shooter is in custody. Both victim and suspect are male but identities are not available at this time.
Midwest City Police say officers on campus quickly found and confronted the suspect. They ordered him to drop the gun, he complied and was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators say the two men knew each other and it is believed to be an isolated incident, however the campus is sheltering in place as a precaution.
Rose State officials say officers are releasing buildings from lock-down one building at a time.
Mid-Del high schools are also on lock-down as a precaution.
