2 suspects in custody in Wethersfield following Norwich burglary
WETHERSFIELD, CT (WFSB) - Two burglary suspects who were in a car that crashed just off of Interstate 91 in Wethersfield on Monday were apprehended later in the morning, police confirmed.
The car was found abandoned on the exit 25 off ramp.
State police said the vehicle was connected to a Norwich burglary investigation. It was spotted by troopers in the Wethersfield area.
“The occupants of the vehicle fled on foot in the area of Exit 26 in Wethersfield,” troopers told Channel 3. “As of [7:10 a.m.], troopers [were] in the area attempting to locate the vehicle occupants.”
Rocky Hill police said they helped troopers track down the suspects in the area of Old Main Street near the Wethersfield town line.

“[Rocky Hill police assisted] the Connecticut State Police in locating two suspects in an early morning burglary in Norwich,” Rocky Hill police said.
Police spent the morning searching the Old Main Street in the area of the Meadows near Goff Brook Lane in Rocky Hill. They warned drivers and neighbors to expect a large police presence in the area.
The suspects were described as two males, one who wore a black hooded sweatshirt and one who wore an orange hooded sweatshirt.
“Any further suspect information is unknown at this time,” Rocky Hill police said.
Channel 3 cameras recorded the suspects’ vehicle as it faced the wrong way on the ramp, south on I-91 north in Wethersfield, with its doors open. The vehicle appeared to have some damage.
