It’s her prerogative.

On Monday, an explosive trailer was released for an upcoming TV special that will investigate Britney Spears’ life just 1½ years after her conservatorship was lifted.

The special, titled “TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom,” reportedly will give viewers an inside look into the 41-year-old pop star’s marriage to Sam Ashgari, a failed intervention, her family and more.

“Britney Spears has had a year and a half of freedom since the conservatorship ended, but there are big problems,” narrator and TMZ Executive Producer Harvey Levin is heard saying at the beginning of the trailer.

The clips in the 30-second trailer are revealing, with TMZ’s managing editor Fabian Garcia claiming that Spears “got physical with Sam,” while Levin claims her marriage is in “deep trouble.”

In addition, the special will investigate how Spears spends each day, and “reveal concern among those closest to her that she’s a danger to herself and others,” according to a press release.

Charles Latibeaudiere, TMZ executive producer and one of the special’s hosts, is even heard offering an “alarming” observation that they recommended to “keep knives away from her.”

TV doc Drew Pinsky is also seen in the trailer, proclaiming: “I’m mortified.”

The Post has reached out to Spears’ representatives for comment.

However, there is a noteworthy potential silver lining to the in-depth program – her career.

The trailer noted that there was “hope” for her future through singing and that, performer-wise, she was “probably still in the top five people.”

The hour-long special is set to premiere on Monday, May 15, at 9 p.m. Eastern time on Fox.

It will also be available on Hulu and Fox Entertainment’s streaming platform, Tubi.

Over the past few years, Spears has endured her fair share of hardships and victories – including the end of her 13-year conservatorship, which was lifted in November 2021.

A conservatorship is a legal process in which someone is appointed by a court to take control of the decisions made around your finances and personal affairs, according to Forbes.

It is often put in place when someone is deemed unable to make those choices for themselves, including if they are incapacitated.

Spears was first put into a conservatorship in 2008 by her now-estranged father, Jamie Spears, after her 2007 meltdown.

After a long battle and the heat from a February 2021 documentary, she made a rare court appearance in June 2021, making bombshell allegations about her life over the past 13 years.

The “Toxic” singer claimed that her conservators were “abusive” and “bullying” her.

She also alleged that they forced her to take birth control even though she wanted to marry and have a baby with her then-boyfriend, Sam Ashgari.

Her father later agreed to step down as her conservator, filing a petition to end it in September 2021.

Since then, Spears married her longtime boyfriend, Ashgari, in a June 2022 ceremony.

She also signed a $15 million, tell-all book deal with Simon & Schuster in February 2022

However, in recent months, she’s sparked some concern with fans and those close to her.

This past winter, it was rumored by TMZ that those around her were concerned that she was going to “die” and that they were planning an intervention.

The outlet claimed that the pop star was “struggling with her mental health and substance abuse.”

Later, she ripped those claims, writing on Instagram, “It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died.”

Multiple Instagram posts had fans worried for her as well.

In March, she sold her home in Calabasas, California at a $1.7 million loss.

She also recently ditched her wedding ring on an April vacation to Puerto Rico, sparking split rumors between her and Ashgari.
