Tuesday night starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard was pulled after one inning in Milwaukee while dealing with a nasty blister issue on his right index finger. For the Dodgers, it’s an unfortunate situation that puts the bullpen in a tough spot for the next few days.

Noah Syndergaard hasn't pitched in 8 days. But it looks like a blister on his index finger has broken open. He went into #Dodgers dugout for treatment and returned to the mound May 9, 2023

Syndergaard tossed a clean first inning — even though he was technically bleeding from his finger tip — but he was hit hard. He gave up a 102 mph single to lead off hitter Christian Yelich and 98 mph fly ball to Willy Adames that just missed clearing the wall in left field.

Right-hander Phil Bickford came on in relief of Syndergaard in what is now a bullpen game for Dave Roberts and the Dodgers.

For the most part, the bullpen should be ready to go. Everyone but RHP Wander Suero is expected to be available. Additionally, the Dodgers just added an arm with the return of LHP Justin Bruihl who was called up to take the roster spot of Caleb Ferguson who left the team on paternity leave.

How Long Will Syndergaard Be Out?

Considering the quick look at the blister in the dugout, it looks like he could miss a few weeks at minimum.
