8 GB For Mainstream Gamers: AMD's Radeon RX 7600 & NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Launch In The Same Week

According to reports, AMD will be launching its Radeon RX 7600 8 GB graphics card on the 25th of May which is a day after NVIDIA introduces its GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB graphics cards. Both cards will be aimed at mainstream gamers but based on early numbers, we can tell that the 4060 Ti 8 GB will end up better than the RX 7600 with the Navi 33 option competing against the Non-Ti 4060 that launches in July.

In yesterday's rumor, it was reported that NVIDIA will be launching three GeForce RTX 4060 series cards. We will be getting the first card this month in the form of the 8 GB GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and there will be two more cards following it in July which include the 16 GB GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and a Non-Ti 8 GB variant. Meanwhile, AMD will be launching its full Navi 33 GPU on the Radeon RX 7600 which has been confirmed in the latest leak.

A Singapore retail outlet has also listed 26th May as the shelf release date for the AMD Radeon RX 7600 8 GB graphics card though due to time zone differences, that's 25th May for the US residents.

These two launches will make the end of May quite crowded as we will not only have these two cards but also various custom models from AIB to select from. Since the launches are close to the Computex 2023 event, we will also see some new custom variants on the show floor though we do not expect whole new series of cards since they'll already be announced.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Specifications "Rumored":

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is expected to utilize the AD106-350-A1 GPU core, a cut-down version of the full AD106 graphics chip, and based on previous rumors, it should pack 34 SMs or 4352 CUDA cores, 16/8 GB GDDR6 memory running at 18 Gbps across a 128-bit bus interface, providing the card with 288 GB/s of bandwidth. There's also 32 MB of L2 cache on board the GPU which is an 8x increase over the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.

The 16 GB variant utilizes the PG190 SKU 363 PCB while the 8 GB variant utilizes the PG190 SKU 361 PCB. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card will come in various SFF and compact ITX options making them great for small PC builds. The card will also sip much less power, requiring close to 150-160W while gaming or even lower which is 25% lower than its predecessor, the RTX 3060 Ti. The cards are expected to launch by the end of May and will cost between $399 - $499 US.

AMD Radeon RX 7600 Specifications "Rumored":

The AMD Navi 33 GPU is going to power the Radeon RX 7600 series graphics cards and would be the third and only chip of the RDNA 3 lineup that utilizes a monolithic design.

The Navi 33 GCD features 2 Shader Engines and each Shader Engine has 2 Shader Arrays (2 per SE / 4 in total). This rounds up to 16 WGP's or 32 Compute Units for a total of 2048 cores which is the same core count as the Navi 23 GPU.

The GPU will come packaged with 32 MB of Infinity Cache, the same amount as the Navi 23 GPU, and across a 128-bit wide bus. First introduced on laptops as the Radeon RX 7700 & RX 7600 series, the Navi 33 GPUs will be aiming at the budget segment with prices between the $250-$300 US range.
