A busload of migrants from Texas arrived at Vice President Kamala Harris’s residence in Washington, DC on Thursday hours before Title 42 was set to expire.

More than 30 migrants – men, women and children mostly from Venezuela – were dropped off outside the US Naval Observatory, which hosts the official residence of the vice president, according to NBC News.

The outlet reports that the bus was the second to arrive at the Naval Observatory in less than 24 hours, with the first vehicle dropping off almost 40 individuals.

Texas has been bussing migrants to Harris’ house and other liberal enclaves since last year in an effort to demonstrate the challenge that border states face due to the immigration crisis and dispute the Biden administration’s claims that the border is secure.

The District’s Department of Human Services announced last week that DC’s temporary lodging program had reached capacity, with about 1,249 migrants from 370 families spread across three area hotels.

The buses arrived just hours before the end of the pandemic-era Title 42 immigration policy, which allowed law enforcement authorities to quickly expel migrants without granting them an asylum hearing.

President Biden acknowledged on Tuesday that with the end of Title 42, the US border with Mexico will be “chaotic for a while.”

Because of the expected surge of border crossers, vetted migrants who cannot be processed by overburdened border authorities will be allowed to enter the country.

The Post found that some asylum seekers are already being allowed to enter the country and being given immigration court dates more than a decade away.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody sued the Biden administration in federal court Thursday to block the mass release of migrants into the US after the expiration of Title 42.

Moody is seeking a temporary restraining order to stem the expected influx, arguing that Biden’s current parole policy mirrors a similar order that was struck down by a federal judge last month.
