Three shot, killed Friday afternoon in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS – Investigations are underway after three people were found fatally shot Friday afternoon across two scenes in north St. Louis.
Around 3 p.m. Friday, police responded to shootings in the North Pointe and Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhoods.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department first responded to a shooting near the intersection of McLaren Avenue and Goodfellow Boulevard in the North Pointe neighborhood. Officers found two men inside a truck who had suffered gunshot wounds. Both died from their injuries.
According to Major Ryan Cousins from SLMPD, the victims were in a truck when a suspect pulled up and shot inside from the passenger side. The driver appeared to have crashed into street signs and a light pole after the shooting. Police are working to tow the truck from the scene.
A short time later, SLMPD then responded to a shooting in the 3600 block of Garfield Boulevard in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. One man was found shot and deceased at the scene. Police believe this shooting might have stemmed from a personal dispute, but additional details on this investigation are unclear.
Cousins says this shooting is unrelated to the first one, though both happened about six miles apart.

After a recent uptick in crime around the City of St. Louis, FOX 2 asked Cousins how SLMPD is able to keep up with the latest series of crimes.
“At some point in time, it gets overwhelming,” said Cousins. “Right now, within the last week, we are a bit overworked. But we’re dealing with the challenge as much as we can. We respond, we get back, and we figure it out.”
No suspect or victim information has been released at this time. Homicide detectives with SLMPD are handling the investigations.
