Sony Pictures once again kicked off CinemaCon's opening night in 2023 and the studio came with updates, trailers, and news for some of its biggest upcoming films, including Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Kraven The Hunter, Gran Turismo: The Movie, Ridley Scott's Napoleon, and more.
IGN was in attendance at Sony Pictures' CinemaCon showcase and this article will share all you need to know about the biggest movies headed to a big screen near you in the future.
Gran Turismo Trailer Shows the Journey From Game to Real Life Racing
David Harbour and Orlando Bloom were on hand to present a brand new trailer for Gran Turismo, the movie adapted from the legendary PlayStation racing game franchise. Gran Turismo stars Archie Madekwe as Jann Mardenborough, a real-life Gran Turismo player who won a series of gaming competitions and became an actual professional race car driver.
In the CinemaCon footage, we catch a glimpse of Jann playing Gran Turismo online with his friends. Djimon Hounsou plays his father and tells him his dreams of becoming an actual racer are unlikely and that race cars are way too expensive.
We also catch a glimpse of David Harbour's Jack Salter who doesn't believe that gamer kids can actually race cars. He himself is a retired race car driver, and he ends up training Jann while also busting his chops in the process. A lot of the pros Jann interacts with also look down on him and don't believe he can make his dreams come true.
A lot of the footage was of racing, and we thought it looked very much like Top Gun with race cars.
Gran Turismo races to theaters on August 11, 2023.
Kraven the Hunter Will Be Sony's First R-Rated Marvel Movie
In a pre-recorded greeting, Kraven the Hunter star Aaron Taylor-Johnson greeted those in attendance at CinemaCon 2023 and revealed that the upcoming film will be Sony's first R-rated Marvel movie. Alongside the news, Sony shared a roughly two-minute teaser trailer from the film that is set to be released in theaters on October 6, 2023.
Kraven's Bloody History of Hunting Spider-Man 16 Images
The footage had a ton of gruesome kills in it as Kraven is seen taking out poachers and mercs alike. We also saw Russell Crowe as the Russian father of Taylor-Johnson's Sergei Kravinoff. In one of the most exciting reveals of the footage, we learn that Alessandro Nivola is playing the Rhino. Furthermore, his skin begins transforming into rhino skin.
Also in the trailer, there is a very brief shot of Sergei holding up the classic fur costume Kraven wore in the Marvel comics.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse CinemaCon Footage Features a Grounded Miles and Gwen Stacy
Sony Pictures shared 14 minutes of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at CinemaCon, and the footage was focused on a grounded Miles Morales, his parents, and Gwen Stacy.
We don't know exactly why Miles was grounded, but we see him in his room before Gwen Stacy appears from a portal from another dimension. They break out of the room and go web-swinging through Brooklyn right before Miles' parents walk into his room and find out he isn't there and promise to add three more months to his grounding.
Gwen and Miles have a talk about stopping dimensions from collapsing, Gwen's father, and the possibility of them falling for each other and the dangers of that.
The final scene takes place at a festival and shows Gwen leaving Miles and his mother coming in to comfort him and giving him the confidence and support he needs to go on whatever mission is ahead of him.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will swing into theater on June 2, 2023, and looks to take place one year after the original.
Ridley Scott's Napoleon: CinemaCon Footage Showcases an Epic Battle Scene Starring Joaquin Phoenix
Sony revealed the first look at an epic battle scene from Ridley Scott's Napoleon that showcases Joaquin Phoenix as the French emperor and military leader.
In the footage, we see Napoleon and his forces seemingly found out by the Russian and Austrian armies. However, Napoleon quickly turns the tables and forces the enemy troops to retreat onto a frozen lake that he then bombards with cannon fire.
Chaos ensures in a very intense and terrifying scene that sees men getting trapped under horses and lots of blood in the water.
Napoleon will be released in theaters on November 22, 2023.

We still don't know much about the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, but CinemaCon 2023 did share some footage from the set of the film that should get fans excited for what's to come. We already knew this sequel would bring our heroes back to New York and the iconic Ghostbusters firehouse, and this footage showed Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, and McKenna Grace in their Ghostbusters uniforms leaning against the Ecto-1.

No Hard Feelings Gets a 'Pretty. Awkward.' Clip Reveal at CinemaCon 2023
No Hard Feelings is an upcoming comedy film starring Jennifer Lawrence and Andrew Feldman and follows Lawrence's Maddie as she takes on a job after finding out she may lose her childhood home. As for what the job is? It is for wealthy parents who want someone to date their introverted son before he goes to college.
In the clip, Lawrence attempts to woo Percy at the dog shelter where he works. She mentions that she wants to adopt all the dogs and tries multiple times to flirt with Percy, who doesn't catch on. She then offers to drive Percy home as Billy Squier's The Stroke plays and she jokes about what else that song could mean. Once again, Percy doesn't understand what's going on and pepper sprays Maddie because he thinks she may be trying to kidnap him.
