David Risher’s tenure as Lyft’s chief executive has gotten off to a tumultuous start — to the point that he already seems to be changing his tune on a potential sale of the ride-hailing giant.
When prompted, Risher said Lyft is “open to offers” in an interview on Bloomberg Television aired Friday, the outlet reported, a tone change from the executive who has slashed Lyft’s workforce by more than 1,000 jobs and spoken optimistically about the San Francisco-based company’s prospects in a fight against its larger competitor Uber. Risher took over the CEO role from Lyft co-founder Logan Green in April, prompting speculation that the struggling firm was gearing up to sell.
