'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' still taking off
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is still taking off at the box office.
The Marvel flick earned $15.7 million on Friday, according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo.
Last weekend, it enjoyed a $118 million-dollar opening, the second-highest debut of the year, according to Variety.
“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” remained in second place with sales of $2.93 million. It is the highest-earning movie of the year to date, with a haul of $1.17 billion worldwide.
In third Friday was “Book Club: The Next Chapter,” which opened on Friday, with $2.14 million in sales.
The rom-com follows four friends — played by Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen — who take their book club to Italy.

The supernatural thriller “Evil Dead Rise” slipped a notch to number four, with a $1.1-million take.
“Hypnotic,” which was released on Friday, followed in fifth place with $940,000 in sales.
