At least one former Grizzlies player does not want to see the NBA go light on Ja Morant.

Chandler Parsons, who played for Memphis from 2016-19, had a harsh suggestion after Morant was seen apparently flashing a gun on Instagram Live on Saturday for the second time.

“Suspend him all of next season,” Parsons wrote on Twitter.

An Instagram Live video of Morant appearing to flash a gun while in a vehicle with a friend surfaced overnight on Saturday, the second time the 23-year-old star has done so publicly.

On March 4, Morant flashed a gun on Instagram Live while at a Denver-area strip club after the Grizzlies had played the Nuggets.

After the first offense, the NBA suspended Morant for eight games before he returned to the team ahead of the playoffs.

On Sunday, the Grizzlies again suspended Morant from all team activities in wake of the second video.

Parsons, who retired from the NBA in 2022, thinks the team should take the nuclear approach when trying to get their young star in line.

“We are aware of the social media post involving Ja Morant and are in the process of gathering more information,” NBA spokesperson Mike Bass said Sunday.

Morant has been involved in a number of other off-court incidents that have added up over the past calendar year.

In addition to the gun videos, he was accused of assaulting a teenager at his house after a pickup basketball game last summer and later retrieving a gun from his house that he made visible in his waistband.

He was also accused of threatening a security guard at a mall in Memphis.

Morant played well in his return from the suspension, but the Grizzlies were eliminated by the Lakers in six games during the first round of the 2023 NBA playoffs.
