San Francisco Police Shoot Armed Man Snorting Cocaine
San Francisco police said they shot and killed a man Friday in the Bernal Heights neighborhood after he entered a market armed with a gun and later drew it on officers.
Police were called to the New Bosworth Market on the corner of Bosworth and Cuvier Streets around 2:45 p.m. after employees there said a man who lived upstairs had entered the store with a bottle of alcohol and armed with a gun.
By the time officers arrived, police said, the man had moved to the rear yard of the store and was snorting cocaine. A standoff occurred, and when the man reached for his firearm, police said, officers opened fire and shot him.
The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he later died, police said.
