Destiny 2's Season of the Deep is being regarded as one of the best so far even though it's only in its first week, and some of the reasons for this could be the sheer amount of good changes it brought alongside great new items and the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon. With it also making good on a promise made by Sloane in the past, players finally get a chance to travel back to the Hive and Taken-infested moon of Titan, this time exploring the depths of its methane ocean. With plenty of references to the depths of the sea and its perils, Destiny 2's Season of the Deep also introduces very powerful Exotics - among them is one, in particular, that can easily make or break the endgame.

Destiny 2's Exotics often follow the pattern of being released as one or two new weapons (a seasonal gun and one from Raids or Dungeons) and three new armor pieces per season (one for every class), and Season of the Deep is no different. With a rework to the Exotic farming system and with Bungie adding an Exotic focusing method to the game, players have never had an easier time trying to get what they want, and Warlocks seem to be in luck this time around.

Destiny 2's Cenotaph Mask Exotic Could Make Endgame Content a Breeze

Warlocks got a new Exotic called Cenotaph Mask, which has an interesting perk that revolves around party play and trace rifles - one that many Guardians were quick to pair with the Divinity Exotic trace rifle. This Exotic allows players to generate ammo for themselves and their allies, which is something that is often used in endgame content to always have a reliable source of ammunition when fighting powerful bosses. Destiny 2's endgame content typically sees one Guardian running the Aeon Soul Exotic to do just that, and Cenotaph Mask could take this strategy to the next level.

What the Cenotaph Mask Season 21 Exotic does is mark a boss, vehicle, Champion, or named yellow-bar enemy as a priority target when hitting said enemy with a trace rifle. These priority targets can be then defeated by an ally through a finisher, which will always spawn a brick of Heavy ammo for the ally and one of Special ammo for the Warlock using Cenotaph Mask. This makes Destiny 2's ammo economy much more bearable in group activities, to the point that many encounters can see the fireteam never run out of ammo and consistently deal incredible damage to big threats.

This alone would be enough for players to try and have a Cenotaph Mask user on every team in hard content, but this Exotic also works when combined with the Aeon Soul Exotic gauntlets - one that every class has access to. Thanks to the Sect of Insight perk, Destiny 2 players can use a finisher on an Elite enemy, a boss, a miniboss, or a Champion to generate Special or Heavy ammo for the whole fireteam, depending on the enemy type, and this ability stacks with Cenotaph Mask's.

As such, a single finisher can generate up to three bricks of ammo, and all it requires is a Warlock with the Cenotaph Mask Exotic equipped to shoot a trace rifle at an enemy. The priority target mark also lasts for a total of 10 seconds, making it quite easy to refresh if needed and for allies to use a finisher within this time window. What follows is that activities like Destiny 2's GM Nightfall Strikes could easily be cheesed by dumping ammo on bosses and hard-hitting targets to take them down, removing a layer of difficulty with just a couple of clicks.

Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
