Galaxy Watch 6 Classic could be a redesign with thinner rotating bezel

Although Samsung retired the Galaxy Watch Classic design last year and replaced it with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro model, that was merely a temporary change in the smartwatch series. At least, according to reports. The same rumors say that the physical rotating bezel will make a comeback with the release of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic later this year. And even newer rumors claim to “confirm” some of the design elements of the next-gen Samsung smartwatch.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, according to @UniverseIce, will have a physical rotating bezel on top of an almost unchanged design comared to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The main difference, he says, is that the “border is narrower,” which likely means that the physical rotating bezel itself might not be as wide as it is on the Watch 4 Classic, seen below.

This isn’t as much an “exclusive confirmation” as it’s a reaffirmation of what is already expected from the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. It all makes a certain amount of sense, given that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is also said to feature a larger display.

Galaxy Watch 6 Classic to be a reimagination for 2023

For a smartwatch series as refined as the Galaxy Watch, slight design changes and a thinner bezel should be enough to make the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic a worthy sequel. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel when it works just fine, especially when there’s room to improve other hardware characteristics.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic should bring other upgrades under its thinner bezel. The larger display with a slightly higher resolution is one. But the smartwatch may also boast better battery life than the already-great Watch 5, and a new, faster Exynos W980 chipset.

Samsung should reveal the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic at an Unpacked event later this year, possibly in July rather than the usual August. The smartwatch series should also consist of a non-Classic Galaxy Watch 6. This model may feature its own design changes consisting of a curved display edge a la Google Pixel Watch.
