Victim in deadly shooting at Portland sex shop was ‘beautiful person,’ brothers say
PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The 29-year-old man on who was shot and killed inside a southeast Portland adult shop on Sunday was identified by police on Wednesday.
The Portland Police Bureau said Zachery Freeman was the Sunday morning shooting victim inside Fantasyland on Southeast Foster Road.

Police also said they had identified a shooting suspect by Sunday evening and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On Monday shortly before 11 p.m., the suspect was shot and killed by police after a chase that ended with “a shooting” near the 11000 block of Southeast 82nd Avenue in Clackamas County, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.
“Lifesaving measures were administered; however, the suspect died at the scene,” according to deputies.
The suspect’s name has not yet been released.

Isaac Freeman, the victim’s older brother, said his family has been waiting for answers.
“Every morning I’d wake up for the past couple of days and, ‘what’s transpiring, what’s going on?’ I’m calling mom saying, ‘Have you heard anything?’ We’re not getting much at all,” Isaac Freeman said. On Tuesday, police told the family that they believe the man killed by Clackamas deputies was the shooter.
Isaac Freeman said he was unsatisfied at the lack of details from the police about their suspect and what happened Monday.
“I didn’t even hear a story if the guy was shooting at the cops or what was going on,” he said. “They said he just ran into a post or something like that and he was shot by one of the officers do we know it was 100 percent the guy? I don’t think so.”

Daniel Freeman, another older brother of the victim, also said he was not reassured by the suspect’s death. “Do I wish death on a man? No,” Daniel Freeman said. “Do I feel like he got what he deserves? Absolutely if that was him. If it wasn’t him, I feel sorry for the family members that lost a family member like I have.”
Both men said their brother was a kind and loving person who was a big part of everyone’s life. As a gay man, their brother was also an active advocate for LGBTQ rights, they said.
Daniel Freeman said he’d like for his brother to be remembered as a beautiful person.
“[A person] who loved Portland, who loved Oregon, who came out here as a quiet timid person from St. Louis, Missouri, never spoke a word for four, or five months, who blossomed into an Oregonian. He loved it here,” Daniel Freeman said.
